Caesars Interactive Entertainment to Launch in Italy with Microgame

Since Italy legalised and begun regulating the online gambling industry, the market has been growing at an incredibly rapid pace. Italians have become huge fans of online poker sites with thousands of them regularly taking part in online games. Harrah's Entertainment, which is now known as Caesars Interactive Entertainment Inc, has launched itself on the Italian poker market by making a long term agreement with an Italian online gambling joint stock company called Microgame S.p.A,
Microgame not only develops online platforms and integrated systems of service but they also operate as an application service provider. Thanks to the online community called People's Poker Network, which comprise of more than 130 online partners across Italy and is comprised of over 1.5 million gaming accounts, Microgame now has about 30% of the Italian online poker market and also 27.1% of the online sports betting market. This means that overall they have 9.4% of the entire betting market.

The World Series of Poker brand will be used by Caesars Interactive Entertainment Inc when entering the Italian Market. Mitch Garber, the CEO of Caesars Interactive Entertainment, said that the agreement is a logical step in the company's European and global expansion plans. He said that by partnering with leading local brands they hope to expand the WSOP brand. He added that Microgame is a clear leader in the Italian market and that he is looking forward to working together to make the poker market grow.
The CEO of Microgame, Fabrizio D'Aloia, said that they were 'honoured' to have been selected as the Italian partner for the WSOP. He said that the People's Poker Network is the leader of the Italian poker market and that they are excited to bring something unique to their customers. He said that the WSOP's 40 years of history will bring new excitement to Mircogame online.
