Gustavson declared champion of EPT London heat

Aaron Gustavson had a good deal to celebrate this week after being crowned champion of the European Poker Tour's London heat. Gustavson, an American player, won the London leg after qualifying for the tournament online. He beat Danish World Champion opponent, Peter Eastgate, and is all set to play at the season grand finale in Monte Carlo next year.
Gustavson took home prize money worth an incredible £850,000 as well as the kudos which accompanies the much coveted European Poker Tour title. Gustavon played a superb series of games throughout the £5,300 buy-in main event at what has become the largest tournament to be held in the UK at large. Gustavson's initial victory came after only fifteen minutes and seven hands in what would prove to be the speediest heads up bout ever witnessed at the European Poker Tour. The final victory was announced when Gustavson defeated Eastgate's A-9 with an impressive A-Q after the two players went all in.

Following Gustavson's incredible success, the delighted 23 year old player called the victory "a dream come true". Asked what he thought of his title, he replied "I'm speechless, totally overwhelmed. I don't think it's going to hit me for a quite a while". With such an impressive track record to date, many will be keeping an eye on this impressive young player who has many more challenges to face in the future. Gustavson supporters will be watching eagerly to see how the American fares in the Monte Carlo final where even more surprises are no doubt in store.
