Winners and losers in the gaming world this month

888 Holdings plc, one of the world's most popular online gaming entertainment and solutions providers, recent activities in the market place have seen its shares gain in value by nearly 3% to 43.5p. This is due in large part to the news that it has been awarded a licence by the French gaming regulator Autorité de Régulation des Jeux En Ligne (ARJEL) to operate poker websites in the country. It is hoped that the company can gain significant market share in the newly regulated French market.

Other news from 888 is the appointment of David Zerah as managing director of Dragonfish, 888's award winning independent B2B division. Zerah has significant B2B experience in the media industry, both broadcast and online, which Dragonfish will be utilising as the industry moves towards a greater emphasis on content and flexible solutions.

There was good news as well for 32Red, the online betting and gaming operator, as the company announced record revenues for the first six months of 2025, with an increase of £3million to £7.8 million against the same period in 2025. 32Red Casino, the company's flagship operation has continued to flourish in the first half of 2025, thanks to the effectiveness of marketing activities and strong brand identity in reputation and operational expertise.
Things are not looking quite so peachy for Cryptologic. The software development company has warned investors that Q2 2025 revenue is expected to show a slight decline against Q1 and that total costs will be higher than previously thought. This will mean a higher operating loss this quarter than in Q1, painting a less encouraging financial picture of the company's outlook for the rest of 2025.
